This is a great playing Selmer Super tenor. This one is from 1932, the second year of the Cigar Cutter. This one is right in the middle of the production of Cigar Cutters, but has the older style key work. The sound of these horns is bigger and fatter than the SBA and Mark VI – and in fact, they kind of remind me more of a Conn.
This one is in great shape for its age. It has been re-lacquered but it was done really well and the engraving is still nice. The neck has no pull down. The pads in this horn are in decent shape and should last for a few years of serious playing. We will go through the tenor and fully set it up before it leaves the shop.
