Looking for a great SBA tenor, but don’t want to shell out top dollar? If so, you should give this horn some serious consideration. This horn has some serious punch along with a nice, warm sound. There is a lot of honest wear to the original lacquer, and whats left, has a great patina to it.
Physically speaking, this horn displays very nicely. It still has a fair amount of its original lacquer which has matured into a very eye-pleasing color, and beautiful American floral-style engraving. This horn was rebuilt at Tenor Madness with brass domed resonators and Pisoni Pro pads. There are a few solder joints, most notably on the low C key guard, but nothing major that detracts from the overall appearance. There was also a bend in the bell flare that has been removed.
This horn is a great opportunity for the serious saxophonist to bring their playing to the next level. The fact that this horn just underwent a recent rebuild will ensure many years of enjoyable playing for whoever decides to purchase it.
