This horn is a piece of history. In 1928, the Selmer company bought out the Adolphe Sax Company and began a line of saxophones under Sax’s name in 1931. Also, the address, “84 Rue Myrha” is stamped on the bell and is the address of Sax’s last workshop. This particular tenor dates back to 1932. The key-work is very close to that of the Selmer Super Saxes, but has a few notable differences.
This horn has no lacquer left, a few small dents, yet it is in fantastic shape for its age. This horn has a beautiful early vintage tenor sound. It will get completely set up before it leaves the shop, so be sure to pick it up while you can!
