Selmer Adolphe Sax 84 Rue Myrha Tenor 10xx
This horn is a piece of history. In 1928, the Selmer company bought out the Adolphe Sax Company and began a line of saxophones under Sax’s name in 1931. Also, the address, “84 Rue Myrha” is stamped on the bell and is the address of Sax’s last workshop. This particular tenor dates back to 1934. The key-work is very close to that of the Selmer Super Saxes, but has a few notable differences.
This horn still has its original lacquer and is in fantastic shape for its age. Moreover, aside from being extremely hard to find, this horn has a beautiful early vintage tenor sound. It will get completely set up before it leaves the shop, so be sure to pick it up while you can!
