This is a beautiful King Zephyr tenor saxophone that was made in 1948. This saxophone is in exquisite condition given its age. It has 95+% original lacquer and it has developed that beautiful caramelized aged King lacquer. This horn also features a custom neck modification in which Aaron Barnard replaced the original octave key mechanism with an underslung King Super 20 octave mechanism.
This Zephyr is of a great vintage and is very free blowing. This horn is currently playing great on an older Aaron Barnard pad job. It features Prestini Pro pads and flat nickel Reso-Tech resonators. This horn is a great value because it offers the sound and feel of a $5000 or more horn at a fraction of the price. The original case is included.
