I always get excited when a new Conn comes into the shop. This one not only surprised me, but has set a new standard! Even playing on old pads, this Conn tenor vibrates the hell out of the pearls under your fingers while keeping a deep core to the sound. In the 20 plus years of working on vintage Conns, I have only had a handful play like this, usually after a complete overhaul.
This is another example of a simply engraved, C.G. Conn LTD first lacquer tenor. This is the pair to the 200k soprano in the for sale section, both coming in from the same player. It would be great to keep the pair together in the future. If you have any interest in purchasing the pair, please contact me.
The body is physically in great condition. No signs of any major work being done on it. There are no dents, and the neck is in great condition.
This horn is on my short list to get rebuilt. I’m planning on using Pisoni Pro pads with brass resonators. This will bring this tenor to the next level of playing. It will come with a new Protec case, or any other case of your choice for an extra charge.
