This is a very fine example of a late, 1940’s Buescher “Big B” the is in good cosmetic condition. Most of the original lacquer is still present and there were only a few minor dings removed in our shop. The engraving on this horn displays beautifully and clearly, which also adds to the overall appearance. We just completed a complete mechanical overhaul on this horn using the original pad snaps and Norton springs. We did have to re-solder a couple guard feet on the low C guard.
From a playing perspective, this horn is super fun to play. It has a really big sound and can handle any amount of air that you give it. It really speaks well in all registers of the horn and plays with a very lush and warm sound.
Big B Buescher’s from this vintage tend to be very good playing horns and can be obtained at a much cheaper cost than other vintage saxophones, which makes them one of the best values in the vintage sax market. Don’t miss your opportunity to own this one!
