Here is a great opportunity to get into a five digit Mark VI soprano. Five digit sopranos are difficult to find mainly because Selmer did not produce many in the early years. This one was made in 1961, just one year before Coltrane’s soprano.
This soprano was silver plated at some point, probably lacquered originally. The job was done very well and they did not over buff the horn. The engraving is still intact, just a little thin. There are no signs of any major damage.
This soprano was recently rebuilt. The pads and corks are all in great condition. Keys are fit nice and tight with very little excess play. It will receive a complete setup before leaving the shop.
