—SOLD—
It’s hard to beat a 5-digit Coltrane soprano. They have a sound all their own. They’re not easy to find because Selmer didn’t produce many sopranos in the early years. This one was made in 1961, only one year before Coltrane’s soprano. It was silver plated at some point and was done very well. (It was probably lacquered originally.) The horn was not over-buffed and there are no signs of damage. The engraving is still prominent and is special because many of the early sopranos weren’t engraved.
This soprano was recently rebuilt, and the pads and corks are in great condition. Keys are fit nice and tight with very little excess play. It will receive a complete setup before leaving the shop. Don’t miss this one.
