This is a Selmer Centered Tone clarinet made in 1955. This is the famous clarinet that was marketed as “The Large Bore Jazz Clarinet” and “Benny Goodman’s Clarinet.” Only around one hundred of these clarinets were ever made. This Omega is truly one rare bird! This clarinet is in great condition, given its age, and has no signs of cracking. It features a tapered bore and large tone holes for a clear centered tone throughout all registers. It plays great on older pads but ultimately it could use a pad job. This horn comes with its original case and three different sized barrels. Contact us if you would like to package in an overhaul with the horn.
