This is a beautiful example of a re-lacquered baritone saxophone. It is one of the nicest re-lacquers we have ever seen. Even the art-deco/”Custom Built” engraving is crisp, making this horn truly a sight to behold. This horn still has its original springs but its original Buescher pad snaps have been removed and replaced with plastic resonators. This horn is being sold in playing condition.
It’s hard to quantify just how rare this model 139 custom built Bari truly is. But it is rumored that only 400 were ever produced. That being the case we don’t want to misquote or misrepresent any information on this rare saxophone. But for some background information on these horns here is a thread talking about them on SOTW.
These Custom Built baritone saxophones are highly sought after for their full-bodied tone and spot-on intonation.
