Here is an absolutely stunning, late serial numbered Mark VI alto. Having been barely played by its past owner, this 50-year-old horn looks like it was just picked up from the Selmer factory. It still has all of the original lacquer and pads and even comes in the original case (which is in excellent condition).
Whereas the early Mark VI tenors are generally considered to be the grail of VI’s, the later serial number altos are prized for their beautiful warm sound, as well as focused intonation. This alto is a prime example of that.
This horn is waiting to be completely rebuilt in the shop, as it has some quirks that are inevitable when a horn sits in its case for most of its life. But, after it is finished in the shop, it will play just as beautiful as it looks. Make this once-in-a-lifetime alto yours!
