The Super 20 Silver Sonic alto needs no introduction. This alto was made around 1969 in the East Lake factory. The cosmetics are near perfect, with just a few minor scratches in the most common areas. The tenon receiver was re-soldered and there is a slight bit of lacquer loss you can see if you look hard enough. It was recently rebuilt in another shop with brass resonators and good quality pads. It has a great tone with no issues from top to bottom. It’s big, bold and bright yet it still has beyond plenty of body. The perfect lead alto.
This has the single-socket neck – which some Silver Sonic players prefer. The numbers match. The lacquer is original. The engraving is gorgeous. And the bell and neck are made of Sterling silver. It doesn’t need to get a whole lot better. It comes with its original case in very nice condition. Perfect for the player or the collector.
