Conn Transitional Silver Alto 242xxx
Here is a really nice example of an original silver plated, art deco engraved Conn Transitional alto saxophone.
This horn has the split bell keys along with its original micro tuner neck, which is still operational. Cosmetically, this horn is in very nice shape and doesn’t have any dents or dings. The lyre holder has been removed and the strap hook has been moved, which helps facilitate in greater ease of playing. The plating is in very nice shape and the engraving is still crisp and displays nicely.
This horn has been recently overhauled from another shop and plays effortlessly and smoothly up and down. It plays evenly, with a full and rich sound, which is what makes Conn’s from this era so enjoyable to play.
This is a great chance to get a really solid playing Conn from what many consider to be the sweet-spot of production for an affordable price!
