Here's a 1950's Short Shank metal alto sax mouthpiece with a lovely Art Deco trademark and triple fluting from the early Soloist period. This metal mouthpiece was called the Classic model. The chamber is slightly larger than that of ‘Soloist’ models, and the baffle a bit higher. These are very sought after pieces for their vintage jazzy tone, and a desired “D” opening, measuring around a .073” tip. These play very well and respond much better than most current metal pieces.
